LETTERS

DEAR EDITOR;

Just a note to say, keep up the good work! It's about time Cleveland gets a good paper circulating around, and lets people know what's happening in and around us.

Also, my lover and I have gone to your Fellowship Community Church on West 25th and Church St., and found it a most rewarding experience. We plan on coming down every weekend for the services, as they are very good, much better than those of the Detroit MCC.

Good luck in the future with the paper, and any plans for the community there. Our sincere blessings go with you.

DRK TOLEDO, OHIO

DEAR DRK; Thanks for the letter. We are glad to see some positive returns coming out of the community, at long last. EDITOR

DEAR EDITOR; You will find enclosed with my letter, which I hope you wili reprint, a clipping I've saved for a long time from a local paper. Reproducing both in your HIGH GEAR would do a world of good for the gays in Cleveland. In these times of shallow insincerety and flagrant preoccupation in and with short term love affairs, youth,so it says, is looking for 'real people' or maturity, in and of, its' own group. Such will never be. Continually, the search goes on in the local nurseries of immaturity (e.g. Twiggy's, et al). The claim is to find true love, and grow old together. Growing old and maturing are seldom synonomous. Growing in maturity is the product of youth learning from the older and more levelheaded. Maturing is also where the older and more rational, experience the rebirth of youth, with and through a life-mate 10-15 years his junior. In this arrangement, therefore, neither one ever grows old. Oldness is monotony in its' most devastating form. How much more monotonous could an existence be, than to never do anything new, never learn any new thing, never experience anything but the things incarcerated in one's own generation span? My lover of these past five years is fourty, and I'm twenty three. We are unquestionably happy, and never apart more than the few hours of a working day. We are both as care-free and funloving as as sixteen year olds. We take a common sense approach to life, typical of a thirty year old. We enjoy a large number of mutual friends in varying age groups. We still have the passionate desire in our lovemaking of a couple in the prime vibrancy of life. I think WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT, and we hope we can share what we have learned with the rest of the world.

LOVE FOREVER, ERIC & BRADLEY
